Jesus commanded his followers to meet together, to listen to his teachings, to pray for the things that concern them and to take care of each other - and our Sunday meetings are an important part of doing these things.
Visitors are more than welcome to come along and sit in to see what takes place. The four services each have a different style, but a usual meeting involves a time of singing, listening to some readings from the Bible, a time of prayer and the presentation of a talk.
Due to COVID-19 our usual service times have been altered, being adjusted to meet the changing situation. The front page of the website has the most up to date information regarding this.
The 9:00am meeting is a more structured meeting following a printed out order of service. This service tends to have the widest range of ages attending. The 9:00 service has a large number of families as well as our “more mature” members. There are teaching activities run for the children (Kids’ Church) which the children head out to after the beginning of the service – any children visiting are welcome to join in. The meeting tends to go for a bit over an hour, after which there is a morning tea in the hall.
The 11:00 meeting started in 1997 as a more relaxed style of meeting, allowing for the “chaos” of families. There are teaching activities run for the children (Kids’ Church) which the children head out to after the beginning of the service – any children visiting are welcome to join in. Each week, after the meeting, some members provide a light lunch for everyone to share in the hall.
The African Bible Ministry is a congregation that caters for the Sudanese and wider African community. The service is carried out, at present, in a mix of English and Arabic.
630 Church is aimed at young adults, but includes people of all ages. The goal is accessibility – so that newcomers and regulars alike are able to understand what Jesus has done for us and what that means for our lives. We have supper afterwards so people can hang around and chat, and regularly share dinner together during the meeting. Each term we run a Q&A night where people can anonymously ask any question they have about God. We’d love you to come and join us!
